On January 20, 1984 The two Webster High Schools, R.L. Thomas High School and H.W. Schroeder High School met on the Basketball Court for the last time. This storied Basketball rivalry ended with the unification of the two schools in the 1984-85 school year. Before the tip off Webster Athletic Director Bill Guerrera talked about what unification could mean to the schools. Play Clip #1

It was September 2, 1987, An important day in the History of WCA-TV. The station was trying desperately to legitimize itself to the Webster Community. The Cable Access Commission came up with the idea of a LIVE Call-In Show featuring topical issues and guests, combined with news, information and the untested personality of then Access Coordinator, Mike Auger. The rest is history. Webster This Week ran for more than five years, and featured shows on topics as diverse as Child Molestation, AIDS, High School Sports, Antiques, and Suburban Development.

One of the first of the Cable 12 shows to be aimed at a specific target audience was Rainbow's End. This was a program produced by and for Senior Citizens. Nathan Harrison, a retired local writer in his 70's was the creator and producer of this sucessful series of programs which ran from the mid 1980's well into into the 1990's. The program was hosted by mostly retired local broadcast personalities. The most frequent hosting combination was G.R.O.W. Coordinator Peg Steffan and former local Weatherman Bob Mills, who brought one of the most outgoing personalities to the program.
