"The major networks should apologize for not being smart enough
to know the WB network's Buffy the Vampire Slayer would turn out to be
the greatest TV show of all time."

Angel regular passes away
I have some sad news for anyone who watched Angel from season one. Remember Doyle, Angel's original sidekick and connection to the Powers that Be? Glenn Quinn, known for his work as "Doyle" on Angel, passed away on December 3rd.
Glenn Martin Christopher Francis Quinn was born in Ireland on May 28th, 1970 in Cabinteely, Co. Dublin. He moved to the USA at 19, where he became known to American audiences as Mark, the not-too-bright husband of Becky Conner in Roseanne.
He will be fondly remembered by fans as the half Brachen-demon Doyle in Angel. He won many fans with his portrayal of Angel's connection to the Powers That Be, with his unrequited love for Cordelia and his fondness for a good malt. When his character was killed off in the season one episode Hero, campaigns sprung up all over the net calling for his return.
In his spare time Glenn liked to play the guitar and drums, as well as running his Los Angeles nightclub Goldfingers with his business partner Mark Leddy.

Cordelia's closeups foretell a blessed event
New York Post: If fans of Angel were wondering why Cordelia Chase is seen in so many closeups lately, here's why: People magazine reports that Charisma Carpenter, who plays Cordelia on the WB series, is expecting a baby boy on March 17 with new husband Damian Hardy, a psychology major at Santa Monica College. The couple got hitched Oct. 5 in a small Las Vegas ceremony (Charisma's hometown) attended only by their families.
Carpenter and Hardy plan to have a bigger ceremony in Los Angeles after their son is born.
The pregnancy will be written into the show. Beyond that, what this will do to the show, which will not have wrapped up shooting when Charisma becomes too pregnant to work, is unknown.

Angel Moves into a New Home
Starting in January, Angel will move from 9 p.m. Sunday nights to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, replacing the cancelled Birds of Prey. The reality show High School Reunion will take 9 p.m. Sunday spot for January and February.
This is now the fourth timeslot the show has occupied in 4 seasons. Let's hope it stays put this time.

Finally, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is on DVD
The fans have asked for it from the start, but Fox Home Video didn't see the appeal of DVD. That has changed. A 3 DVD boxed set containing the first season of BtVS arrives in stores on January 15th. The set will contain all 12 episodes of the first season, plus interviews, photos and a trailer.
Still undisclosed is which version of the two part premiere will be included. The night of the show's debut in 1997, the Warner Bros. network showed a two hour premiere. That was Welcome to the Hellmouth & The Harvest, not as two episodes, but as a single, integrated two hour show, with one set of credits and beginning with a brief history of previous slayers in the U.S. That brief history has never been shown again. Will it appear on the DVD? We will have to wait and see.

Willow Must Go!

Willow Rosenberg was once my favorite character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer but this has gone too far. She has not only been turned into a witch, and a lesbian, but she is a bad person. She has violated Tara's mind just as badly as Glory did. Then she tries to violate Buffy's mind to cover up her own mistakes. That is not a youthful indescretion. Willow is not a character who can ever be trustworthy again. She's icky. She deserves a fate no better than Glory's.
Buffy heads to Saturday morning
Fox Kids Network announced that it is developing a cartoon Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Animated Series with Joss Whedon, creator of the live-action version of the supernatural WB hit show.
The Buffy cartoon could be on the air as early as February 2002, Maureen Smith, president of Fox Family Channel and Fox Kids, told Variety.
It was not announced whether Gellar would voice her animated alter ego for the new Fox show.
Sarah's Getting Hitched, Buffy's Staying Single
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar announced her engagement to Freddie Prinze, Jr. at a party to celebrate her 24th birthday.
The couple has been together for over a year. Freddie and Sarah had a very public "coming out" last year at a Los Angeles Lakers game. In addition to appearing together in the teen horror flick "I Know What You Did Last Summer," they are also playing cartoon icons Daphne and Fred in the upcoming live-action movie "Scooby Doo."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been kidnapped
During five years of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar has faced zombies, demons, vampire suitors, and the death of her mom, but the Slayer never could have predicted this: A move to UPN.
Snapping up the WB's prized series is a major coup for UPN, whose only hits have been WWF SmackDown! and Star Trek: Voyager. The two-year deal is good for 44 more episodes of Buffy.
Angel, the Buffy spin-off that stars her brooding ex-beau of a vampire (played by David Boreanaz), will stay on the WB. However, this UPN deal includes a clause to resurrect Angel for a miminum of two years if the WB should cancel it.
Angel Cast Appears at Festival
The cast and creators of The WB's "Angel" took part in the Museum of Television and Radio's 18th Annual William S. Paley Festival on the night of Saturday, Mar. 3rd. Creators Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt, and stars David Boreanaz, Charisma Carpenter and others took questions from the full house and proved, above everything else, that they are one happy group of people.
The most interesting news of the night was that David Greenwalt said the show will be leaving Los Angeles for its last three episodes of this season. Where are they going? No one would say, but the one hundredth episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a good guess.

Magazines know who has the best fans. They continue to put Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the cover to sell magazines.
Here are a few publicity photos someone at the WB was
nice enough to send me. Updated May 14th.
Fox Takes Aim at Fan Web Sites
The company is named 20th Century Fox and it doesn't seem to be ready for the 21st century.
20th Century Fox has been sending threatening letters to the creators of several Buffy the Vampire Slayer web sites. After trying to maintain secrecy, on Dec. 23rd this culminated in a press release from 20th Century Fox.
20th Century Fox claims to be protecting creative rights. A goal which I appreciate and support. In fact the company is really trying to turn fans who create web sites into little more than unpaid publicists for the company. If they want to tell web site owners what to do, then they should pay them.
In my own opinion, 20th Century Fox wouldn't have this problem is the official Warner Bros., now UPN, Buffy the Vampire Slayer web site wasn't so pathetic.

Spend Your Christmas Money on Buffy
Did you get the gift of cash for Christmas? The Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtrack album is now in stores.
Do you already own the soundtrack? Did you get it for Christmas and now you want more Buffy stuff? Have you seen the new Buffy t-shirts? I was the first one to report the licensing deal for Buffy the Vampire Slayer t-shirts. Well, new ones have arrived. If you haven't seen the new shirts, click here for a look.
Will they or won't they?
Will there be a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer feature film? The March
issue of Cinefantastique published an interview with Joss Whedon where
he dismisses such an idea as speculation, and insists any movie is far off in
the future. At the same time, the February Cinescape claims the rumors
are true. In spite of attempts to downplay it, Cinescape reports that
the studio is moving at full speed to make a new Buffy movie.

This is a Shockwave Free Zone!
Don't you hate it when some big, corporate Buffy the Vampire Slayer web
site tells you to download Shockwave, or makes you wait for enormous image maps to
download? I looked at that and thought: "I can do better than that." Then I
remembered: I already have.
My site has no Java, no cookies, no frames, and absolutely, positively
no Active-X and no Shockwave. If you have a web page, make sure that visitors to
your site can use any browser.
Play with Buffy at Home
Moore Creations, the company that makes the Witchblade, Lady Death and other
assorted figures, has gotten the license for figures based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Everyone who has seen them is very impressed with how they resemble the characters in the series.
For more information, Moore Creations maintains a "latest news" page on their web site site www.mooreaction.com., and as more information is released, it should show up there.

What Angel Says to Buffy:

I created this site to provide baseline jpeg versions of the images at the "Official" Buffy the Vampire Slayer site.
(Just to be a nice guy.) The problem with the jpeg standard is that it doesn't specify
a file format. Not all jpeg photos can be viewed with all programs. The jpegs here do not
use progression or previews, so they'll work with any image viewer you have.
Over the months, I've added a few other publicity photos. I do not have any low
resolution screen captures. I've also used larger thumbnails than most sites.
Each page takes a little longer to transmit, but this way you won't have to
actually download each picture just to get a good look at it. I think you'll be
pleased with the results.
