Al worked at the toxic chemical dump.
The day that his wheelbarrow disintegrated
was his last day on the job.
He hasn't blinked since, nor has he been able to locate the rest of his body.
Al Norm was a company man, and they gave him a Timex after the unfortunate "mishap" as a token of their appreciation. Al is frozen in time, and a watch does him little good; besides, he can't find his wrist anyway, as it and the rest of his body seem to have vanished into that cold blue cloud that ate his wheelbarrow.
"We feel badly for Al and his family" said the big cheese at the toxic waste dump, "but the work must go on, in the name of progress, profits and patriotism."
Needless to say, Al lost his job, though his head glows in the dark now, and he has been offered the position of mutant clown, performing as a centerpiece at birthday parties for the children of the people who work at the toxic waste dump.
Al, is afterall, a company man....
