The works of Tom Lynam the photographer are the source for Altoona Archives.
What started as a fascination and hobby turned into a lifetime career. In the 1940's and '50's he took pictures for the Altoona Tribune newspaper,until it closed in 1958. Then after working a few years for a couple of " two-bit outfits ",he decided to go into business for himself.

Over the years Tom has taken thousands of pictures, ranging from passive things like,school portraits, sports teams, and weddings, to more serious events like mining disasters, or the famous wreck of the Red Arrow train on Bennington Curve in 1947.

All of the pictures displayed in Altoona Archives are available for sale
as black and white prints , or in several digital formats for various uses.

Aside from all the pictures that you see in Altoona Archives there are many more, too numerous to mention, Available upon request.

  • 8 X 10 Black /White....$12.00 plus $2.50 shipping & handling, for up to 5 prints.
  • 11 X 14 Black /White....$37.50 plus $2.50 shipping & handling.
    (Please add 6% sales tax if you are a Pa. resident.)
