1939...8'11" Henry Wadlow(1918-1940) in the lobby of the Penn Alto Hotel.For years he has been in the "Guiness Book of World Records" as the world's tallest man. This was taken when he was 21yrs. old--and then he died the next year. He was in Altoona working as a promoter for a shoe company.
