Remembering the wreck of the Red Arrow,
Fifty years ago on Feb.18, 1947.

The following pictures were taken before daybreak at the scene of one of the worst train disasters in history. The wreck of the Red Arrow occurred at the Bennington Curve about a mile east of the Gallitzin Tunnels. It claimed the lives of 24 people and left another 131 people injured.
