(25)01/12/98 Hi. I am very new at the search. I'm not really sure how to dig in. I found this web sight by luck. I am hoping that I might find that this, my first step, is a big one in the right direction. I am looking to find information on my mothers family. My mother, Mary Ellen Collins, was born in 1935. She had an older brother, George Washington Collins. She also had a younger brother, Daniel Boone Collins Jr.. Their parents were Daniel Boone Collins Sr. and Bertha Cottongim. Daniel, my grandfather, was born around 1890. When my mother was a child, she lived in Manchester Kentucky. I believe that her family was probably in this area for a good long time. Daniel Boone Collins Sr.'s parents were Washington (?) Collins and Nancy (?) Collins. Daniel Boone Collins Sr.,(born approx. 1890), had two sisters, Mary (?) Collins and Elizabeth (?) Collins. He had two full brothers Henry (?) Collins and Silas (?) Collins. His oldest half brother was Emery (?) Hensley. (Henry was the youngest child) If anyone has any information on these people, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you. Also, If anyone has any advise of where to go from here, I would love to hear from you too. I have to admit it is very hard to figure out , the who's who in chronological order. (29)1/21/98 I am new to the search and I am looking for the Herman Collins family from Taylor County Wva. He married Etta. They had daughters, Beulah (my great grandmother, Dorothy,Violet,Idelle,Madelyn and one son by the name of Noble who was killed in a mining accident in Fairmont wva. (34)2/22/98 I am looking for information regarding Daniel COLLINS, born in Fletcher (Miami County), Ohio around 1868. His parents' names are William COLLINS and Elizabeth Ralston COLLINS. Daniel COLLINS is my great-grandfather. The 1880 Shelby County (Ohio) Census shows that William COLLINS' father was born in Ireland but I have been unable to identify family names at this point. (35)2/26/98 I am looking for any information on my grandfather a THOMAS MARSELLIS COLLINS who was a blacksmith in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. My mother was not raised by her parents and knew very little about her father. The only information I have is he had five children by ANNIE FOLLIN (no record of a marriage) and lived at 1217 33rd.. Street N.W., Washington, D.C.He operated a blacksmith shop known as COLLINS & WALSH sometime around 1914 the name changed to COLLINS & FOLLIN. He died in 1917 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Wash. D.C.I obtained this information through the street directories of Washington,D.C. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thomas Collins
wrote his will 3 Jun 1751 & it was probated 1752 in
Spotsylvania Co., Va.. He was a brother of Joseph Collins
whose will was probated in Spotsylvania Co 1 Nov 1757. This
relationship is documented from the court orders at the death of
Joseph who had been the guardian of Thomas Collins children.
Thomas Collins by a 1st wife had a son Richard
who was an adult & living in King & Queen Co when his
father died; a son (possibly by a 2nd wife) Joyx Collins
who was 13 years old when his father wrote his will. His last
wife was Mrs. Elizabeth (Barbee) Redd by whom he
had 2 sons who were probably under age 6 when Thomas died. They
were:
(1)Thomas Collins, Jr. bc 1746 who died 1820 in Madison Co., Ky.. His wives were: m 1. Abby Garland m 22 Oct 1770; [m2. Susanna Wallace m17 Jun 1781 [m3. Mrs. Mary ( ) Barr m 18 Oct 1813. Thomas Jr was survived Nby 7 children including his 2nd son Capt. BARBEE Collins b 4 Jan 1774 & d 1843 Franklin Co., Tenn
(2) William Collins
m aft 1767 Martha Isbell (who survived him &
d 1826) of Caroline Co., Va.. His will was written in Sumner Co.,
Tenn but probated in Christian Co., Ky. 27 Jun 1808. Had 8
children including BARBEE Collins who married Martha
Johns in Christian Co., Ky 27 Aug 1818. Several of the
children of William & Martha (Isbell) Collins went to
Calloway Co., Mo and Pulaski Co., Ark.
Mrs. Elizabeth (Barbee) Redd Collins m between Sept 1753 &
Oct 1753, Samuel Hildrup who was the widower of Elizabeth
Taliaferro. Both were dead by or in 1760 in Spotsylvania
Co., Va. By her first husband, Thomas Redd, Jr she had at least 7
Redd children, including Mordecai Redd bc 1735
& d 1807 Woodford Co., Ky (by several appointments became the
guardian to his 1/2 brothers, William & Thomas Collins ) m Agatha
Minor & Anne Redd bc 1730 m Thomas Broaddus
of Caroline Co., Va. Elizabeth was the daughter of John
& Ann Miller Barbee - both died testate in Essex
Co., Va.
I am interested in finding further records of the children of Thomas Collins Jr & William Collins..sons of Mrs. Elizabeth (Barbee) Redd Collins Hildrup.

DEAN AND
BERNARD RAY.
They eventually settled in San Leandro, Ca.

the date of birth year 1854? Married 3 times don't know name of

wives. Had a least 2 sons by them one son name was George
Richard Collins Jr.
and Sam Collins. His third wife name was

around Ada or Vanoss Oklahoma they had 5 girls and one boy one of
the girls
names was Jaunita Collins my grandmother.
George Richard died the last of
March of first of

who married Jane Blakey,

Married
Mahaley Adelaide Thomas Oct. 11, 1883. He
had at least one brother,
George, and one sister, Betty.
He had 10 children: Zula Mae (my
grandmother), Sophronia, Olive Thomas,
Irwin, Paul, Allen, Tilman,
Nettie, and Daniel. He
owned property in South Arkansas near Bradley.
I can't find any information about his parents, where they were
from,
etc. Would appreciate any links.
