was born on January 26, 1919 in Salem, LA. to Godley L. Hamilton and Carrie
L. Smith Hamilton.
Her homecoming was January
3, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA. She began her Christian
walk at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. H. Y. Bell in Monroe,
LA. She later moved her membership to Liberty Christian Center under Pastors
Johnny and Pamela Drumgole.
Survivors include (1) brother:
W. L. Hamilton, El Paso, TX.; (3) three daughters: Ardell R. Potier (Miles),
Baton Rouge, LA.; (1) one son, Jeffery White, Monroe, LA.; (11) eleven
grandchildren and (1) one great grandchild. (4) four nieces; Beverly Bradford,
Ruston, LA.; Norma Johnson, Mary C. Aubrey, Wanda Hunter Reed, Oakland,
CA.; (3) three nephews; Paul Hunter, Oakland, CA.; Ronnie Hunter, Washington
D.C.; Jim Hamilton, Jr., Houston, TX., and a host of other relatives and
friends.

Jenkins was born in Dubberly, Louisiana to the late Resse and Ella Jordan.
At an early age, she
was converted and baptized at the Galilee Baptist Church were the Rev.
J. A. Moore was Pastor.
She moved to Gibsland, LA.
where she stayed until she moved to Monroe and united with the First Baptist
Church. At First Baptist she served as Sunday School teacher of Class #8.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Family until she was physically
unable to attend.
Sister Jenkins worked for
the Louisiana Agricultural Extension Service until she retired
She passed this life on January
5, 1998. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, friends and First
Baptist Church Family.

Sister Alberta Kirk was born April
3, 1923, Mangham, LA. to Cassie Williams and Walter Williams.
She departed this life January,
7, 1998 at 3:30 p.m., at LSU Medical Center
She was baptized at the Antioch
Baptist Church under Rev. J. C. Rodgers. Sister Kirk later united with
the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in October 1981, under the pastorate of
Rev. Oliver W. Billups, Jr.
During her time of service at Mount
Olivet, Sister Kirk served as an usher in the Senior Ushers Ministry. She
was an active member of the Senior Mission; and served as the Supervisor
of the Nursery during Sunday Worship Service.
Sister Kirk was a well known in
the Renwick Addition as a community activist and a compassionate benefactress
of the needy.

her memory: two daughters: Linda Williams (Willie), Arlington, TX.; Alberta
Kirk, Monroe, LA.; three sons: Victor Kirk, Baton Rouge, LA; Rev. Rogers
Kirk (Roselind), Davenport, IA.; Louis Kirk (Debbie), Arlington, TX., one
sister: Naomi Hegwood, Monroe, LA.; 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
