Notes:
William was thirteen when he arrived in Cheney's Grove.
W.K. was the assessor for Cheney's Grove from 1876 - 1879. He was also postmaster for Saybrook for many years. (From "The History of McLean County, Ill, Wm. Le Baron, Jr & Co, 1879; pages 541& 543)
W.K. was a good natured man who had a rather heavy voice and a heavy black moustache. He could have been called a good looking man if "he would dress himself up." (From page 412 of "The Good Old Times in McLean County, Illinois" by Dr E. Duis, 1874)
