THE POLSON-CHENEY FAMILY
Additional Information
Catherine Louise "Kaytee" Gibson:
Notes:
Kaytee spent her childhood in Superior, Arizona, an old copper mining town, where the Boyce Thompson Southwest Arboretum was located. This rather isolated area gave Kaytee a love of gardens, trees and wildlife, especially birds.
In September 1941, Kaytee entered the University of Arizona. She met her husband, Hal, at a church party given for the University students. Kaytee and Hal were a couple for two years before marrying in 1943. Hal was called to active duty in the U.S., Navy, and Kaytee went to stay in Fresno with her mother's family. Caroline Trudie was born in Fresno, California.
After Hal's release from duty in 1945, the Websters moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Three more children came into the world during the years in Idaho. The Websters then moved to Denver, Colorado. Kaytee finished college in Colorado and received her degree in education.
Kaytee taught in the Denver Public School System for thirty-five years. She began as a first grade teacher, and then moved to Special Education classes. Kaytee taught with a lot of love, and encouraged each child to do their very best at all times.
