Additional Information
Charles Taylor Reyburn:
Notes:
The 1920 Federal Census for Clovis City, Fresno County, California listed Charles on sheet 3b, line 96. Charles owned his own home, lived with his wife Minnie, and was a banker for First State Bank.
Frieda Josephine Reidhaar:
Notes:
Frieda came alone to the United States when she was 18 years old. She took nurses training in Los Angeles and Sacramento, California. She became a Registered Nurse and moved to Fresno.
She nursed Minnie May during a brief illness. Minnie and Frieda became close friends. Minnie told Charles that if she were to die, she would like him to marry Frieda. Charles did marry Freida nine years after Minnie's death.
Frieda went back to Switzerland twice to visit her family. During her second visit, she placed a little American Flag on her dresser top. Each time she went back to her room the flag would be taken down. Frieda was so upset by this action, that she never went home again. (Personal knowledge of Jean Reyburn Flynn).
