THE POLSON-CHENEY FAMILY
Additional Information
Abraham "Abraham" Belknap:
Notes:
Abraham was mentioned in the will of his grandfather who bequeathed 10s to "Abraham Beltofte sonne to Bennett Beltoft my Godchilde".
There is no record of when Abraham emigrated to New England, but it was probably around 1635. In 1638 he received a grant of 40 acres of land in Lynn, MA.
Abraham's will has never been found, but the inventory of his estate has been preserved. The net amount of his worth was 47 pounds, 17s, and the mark of his wife, Mary, appears on the document. The inventory contained the first mention in Essex County of pot-hooks and hangars, brass pot and frying pans, spit and dripping pans.
