born in Pennsylvania. Moses Cole (son) Bible (from Joy B. Crain) gives date and
place of birth.

(father-in-law of Adam) is shown.

3. Adam shown as head of household in 1820 Census in Whitewater
Tnshp.

In the 1860 census for Jefferson Township, Switzerland County, Indiana, Adam and Elizabeth were living alone, but next door to their son Stephen. Adam was 65 with $5,000 worth of Real Estate and $3,000 worth of personal property.

Vevay Reveille (newspaper) June 5, 1879: The picnic was a complete success...Who did not notice the Cole brothers at the picnic. Adam and Cornelius, the oldest men on the grounds - Only two of the family left. They are both past 80. They met early in the morning and remained together all day. They have outlived their generation. Each has a daughter living in the county. The other children have gone West.
