Listed in the 1890 "Great Register of Sonoma County as a farmer in the Vallejo Township.

In the "Amended Index Sonoma County Homestead Declarations" Thomas H and Lillie M Cheney filed a homestead declaration on Sept. 2, 1895 (located in Vol H, Page 275).

Listed in the 1900 Sonoma County Census as living in the Vallejo Township. Thomas was a farmer who owned his own farm, and could read & write English.

In March of 1910, Thomas made the trip to Coalinga, California to attend the 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration of R.J. and Martha Cheney. He was listed as living in Porterville. (From the Daily Coalinga Times, March 9, 1910)
