Albert Freeman first became a part of the Cheney family when he married Lucy. He soon became their beloved Uncle Al. After Lucy's death, Al married his sister-in-law Mary Janes.

Al Freeman worked for the Kern County Land Company from 1910 - 1942. He was listed in the "BAKERSFIELD CITY DIRECTORY" 1911 - 1942 Editions. In 1911 Albert was a foreman at KCL and resided at 2000 24th Street. From 1912 - 1941, Albert was listed as Superintendent of KCL, and he resided at 1902 24th Street. In 1942, the address was 2103 22nd Street.

On sheet 4A, line 42 of the 1920 Federal Census for Bakersfield, Kern County, California Albert W. Freeman appeared as a Superintendent of Water for Kern Land. He was 47 years old, owned his own home and was born in Kansas. He stated that his father was born in England and his mother in Illinois. Albert was living with his wife, Lucy 38 and Martha16.

Albert Freeman was a member of the Bakersfield Masonic Lodge #224, the Scottish Rite Lodge of Perfection of Los Angeles, and the Bakersfield Lodge # 202, I.O.O.F.

1930-1931: Lucy was a bookkeeper for the KCL Company. She resided at 1902 24th Street.
