The 1880 census for Sonoma County, CA, listed Harry as working on his father's farm.
From the "Bakersfield City Directory" 1910 - 1922 Editions:
1910: Listed as a Teamster at 1711 27th Street. (The same address as Milton Cheney).
1911-1912: A Teamster residing at 2629 H. Street. (The same address as Harry Jr).
1913-1915: Listed as a Teaming Contractor at the same address.
1916-1917: A Teaming Contractor with a business address of 2111Chester. The same home address.
1918: Listed as an oil worker with the same home address.
1919-1921: No listing but Harry Jr was still listed at the same residence.
1922: A listing appears for Harry as an oil worker at the same address.
The 1920 Federal Census for Bakersfield, Kern County, California listed Harry on sheet 11b, line 52. Harry was 55, and living with his wife Effie and mother-in-law Ann Scarlet. I believe he is listed as a Watchman.
Buried at the Union Cemetery in Bakersfield, California. The head stone says born 6/30/1864.
