Additional Information
Elliott Loris Cheney:
Notes:
Elliott was a handsome man with green eyes. After graduating from Coalinga High School, Elliott went to work in the oil fields of the Long Beach District. He met Florence while in Long Beach.
Elliott was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. In those days, there was no Chemotherapy. The Doctors tried X-Ray treatments on Elliott, but to no avail.
Elliott spent his last summer at the family cabin on Huntington Lake, California. Mary Jane Blackwell remembers her family was vacationing in the mountains that summer. They went to visit the Cheneys, and she had to wait in the car as her mother went in to visit with Elliott and Annie.
Flo, Elliott's wife, was a bright young woman with a career in Southern California. She was not well liked by Annie, and only came to the Lake on weekends. After the summer, Elliott returned to his childhood home in Coalinga and died in September.
