Whatever this ideal has been, South Florida had possessed them with a magic combination of sunshine, orange juice, and also a unique weather, only disrupted every now and then by a silly hurricane. We are a bridge between North and South, a mixture of several cultures:



In 1890 Key West was the largest city in Florida with a population of 18,000. Tampa was second. It wasn't until Henry Flagler brought his rail trail first to Palm Beach , later to Miami by the end of the century, that South Florida started its growth. The 1894-95 winter season was catastrophic for Florida farmers. The worst freeze in decades. Rumor has it that Mrs Julia Tuttle, the Brickells and James Ingraham's petit conspiration of orange blossoms was crucial in the final decision to build the East Coast Railway further South. Hispanic ancestors, the fifth largest in the World. A living link to the millions South of the Border.
