Village
The Village of Rhinebeck is located within and belongs to the town
of Rhinebeck. The village is incorporated and has an elected
government consisting of mayor and board of trustees. Also elected
is a village Justice of the Peace. Village offices are held by and
elected only by village residents.
The village government traditionally meets in public sessions, open to all,
on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30PM in the village hall (East Market
Street above the Fire House).
The new mayor, John Costa, is attempting to increase public
participation by holding some meetings
on Saturday morning.

Town
The Town of Rhinebeck surrounds and includes Rhinebeck Village which is
where the town hall is located. The town government consists of a
town supervisor and town board. Town offices may be held by and are elected
by residents of both the town and village since the village is part
of the town.
The town government meets in public sessions, open to all,
on the second Monday of the month at 7:30PM in the town hall (East Market
Street just East of the Fire House).
Village Garbage & Recycling

Village Garbage
To be picked up by the village, garbage must be placed in special bags
purchased from the village and placed at curbside. Bags may be purchased
at the Village Hall or ordered by mail.

- 30 gallon bags - $4.00 Each.
- 15 gallon bags - $2.00 Each.
- By Mail
- Five 30 gallon bags - $22.00.
- Five 15 gallon bags - $12.00.

Village Garbage and Recycling Pickup
- Weekly - Tuesday: Garbage and recycling bucket.
- Monthly - First Wednesday:
Newspapers, magazines, shiny inserts, paper bags - co-mingled.
- Monthly - Third Wednesday:
Corrugated cardboard flattened with staples and plastic tape removed.
- Monthly - April thru. November - Second and Fourth Wednesday:
Yard and Garden Debris: Weeds, grass clippings, hedge clippings, small brush
and leaves, Please place these items at the curb in cardboard boxes,
old garbage cans, or other convenient receptacle. Receptacle will be left for
re-use.

Recycling - What to Recycle?
ALL ITEMS MUST BE CLEAN:
- Glass Bottles
Only clear, green and brown bottles and jars. NO caps, mirrors, window glass,
light bulbs or crockery.
- Plastic Bottles
Milk, water, juice, bleach, etc. Look for 1 and 2 on bottom of container.
Please crush.
- Tin Cans
No tops. Please crush.
