The white space at the tip of arrow#1 is the fracture, which travels in the same direction as the arrow.

Arrow #2 shows the acromion touching the shoulder joint because of the break.

After the Plate and Screws were fitted, the acromion in now "straight".

Arrow #1 shows the break has been "closed" and arrow #2 shows that the acromion is no longer touching the shoulder joint, leaving room for the rotator cuff to move beneath it.
