"Mrs B's Biker Bars"

:Dry Ingredients:

1 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups flour
3 cups rolled oats
1/3-cup wheat germ
1 cup raisins, dark and/or golden
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2-cup sunflower seeds
1 cup cranberries (fresh or dried) and 1 cup chopped dates
1 cup figs or apricots, chopped (I use cutting shears or Couisanart)
1 to 3 tablespoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)

:Wet Ingredients:

4 egg whites
3/4-cup canola or veg. oil
1/2-cup skim milk

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Next mix wet ingredients
in a small bowl. Now add the wet ingredients to the dry
ingredients. Toss and mix well, with two wooden spoons.
Pour into a 9x13 pan. Press down with palms of hands and make
smooth. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool on rack and then
cut into squares. Individually wrap with saran wrap; place
in airtight container and place in freezer. Take one/two out when
heading out for a ride.

Mrs B is actually my wife Vicky. She modified the ingredients and changed the shape until it was tasty and suitable for carrying on the trail.
