Site Surveys

Site Surveys

Site surveys can be an important tool in analyzing a Data Center for potential problems, or in preparation for upgrades or the installation of new equipment. A site survey prior to the installation of new equipment can identify delivery path problems, service clearance deficiencies, potential power and Air Conditioning problems, and can pave the way for a smooth installation.

A Site Environmental Survey is designed to identify site deficiencies which could have an adverse effect on the safe reliable operation of the Data Center equipment. Power panels are examined for proper NEC compliance as well as adherence to the standards set forth by electronic equipment manufacturers. The performance of HVAC equipment is analyzed, and the proper installation of high frequency electrical noise abatement procedures is verified. Many other factors associated with proper Data Center construction and operation are evaluated, and a report on the findings is prepared. A good Environmental Survey can verify that all of the environmental factors are in order, and should not be a source of equipment malfunction. Or it can point out areas which warrant further investigation should equipment be malfunctioning.
