Who am I?

Born in Brooklyn NY in in `61. Lived in Crown Hights till `79, but summered on Long Island or up state NY. Since then, I've been living out on the Island full time.

I've always loved nature, & insects in particular. I've reared many a moth, including the cecropia colony I maintained for several years.
I studied Architecture @ Brooklyn Tech, Entomology & computers @ SUNY ESF & SU.
I got interested in model railroading in `70 and railfanning in '76.
I model in 2 scales:

  • N (1:160) is in the basement. As a member of Long Island NTrak, I've been to several national (NMRA) conventions, including Denver, Columbus OH, Houston, & Portland OR.
  • G (garden, 1:24 or 1:29) out by the patio.

    I enjoy birding, hiking, gardening, photography, & the occasional alternate reality.

    What ties all this together? Actually, they're all inter-related. Model railroading is, after all, creating a new reality, or rather re-creating reality as you see it. Gardening is altering one's reality. Gardening ties in with Birding & Nature, as what you plant affects the local wildlife. My Garden Railway provides running water for birds & insects...
    Then I photograph everything... capturing reality as I see it.

    But who am I? Who is anyone?
    Perhaps I'm just a figment of your overactive imagination... or is it the other way around?

    Remember, you may substitute an Alternate Reality, but you can not abandon Reality.
