Dear Mr. Saade,

I'm sure that since the People article you've had many requests for your
cards and this is indeed another. I am also sure that accompanying each
of these requests are personal stories of ill treatment by insensitive, rude
sales people. The following is mine:

Between the time I read the article about you and my decision to order a
package of your cards, I had occasion to go shopping for some new
clothes. Being a not so small woman, it is occasionally difficult to find
clothes in my size. However, I am not so gargantuan as to merit the treat-
ment I received in a particular store. While looking around, I noticed that
most of the clothes were in smaller sizes than I wear. Not wanting to
waste my my entire evening in a store that doesn't carry my size, I add-
ressed the following question to the only saleslady available in the store:

"What sizes does this store carry?".

Her reply: "fourteen."

I responded: "This store only carries one size?"

Her reply (as she gave me a head to toe once over): "Well, six to
fourteen."

As you can guess, I was highly insulted. Of the 50 cards you send me,
number 1 will be personally delivered to the store manager where I was
so rudely treated.

Might I suggest we get together and compile this and other stories in a
book? We could call it. Saade Tales.

Thanks for reading this letter. Keep smiling.

Sincerely,
Valarie_______ --Chuluota, FL

Hi! George.....$- enclosed for (50) "customer comment cards".
Clever idea.

In frustration of correspondance problems, I'll share this 'attention getter"
with you: address the letter to "Someone with Intelligence AND Authority".
Response guaranteed.

Another ploy I often use is....."I'm sorry for you. It's too bad you have to use
untrainable clerks."

Jack ______ --Grand Rapids, MI

Dear George:

Please send me two packets of your cards. My sister and I have been writing notes to employers for years on good or bad service and this will make the task even easier. I own two retail businesses here in Kitsap County and I always appreciate input from the people that are the reason I can stay in business!!

Sincerely,

Rick_____--Bremerton, WA

Dear Mr. George Saade,

I had really enjoyed your story in People Weekly Magazine "your right," there are a lot of rude people. When I was about 18 or 19 and got my first job: if I was rude once to people I got fired on the spot! Thank you for your article.

Jeanette_______--Mineral Ridge, OH

Dear Mr. Saade:

If the great American economic engine is to survive, it's gonna be through the good offices of just such as you. Congratulations on the success of your job performance cards, and I hope you get rich off them. I enclose something similar I did about ten years ago after I walked out of _______at Lenox Square. At least four clerks were engaged in animated conversation while I stood waiting to part with about two hundred bucks. Being a country lad I assumed _______ must have become a do-it-yourself clothing store--I never went back. Feel free to copy my card, adapt it, whatever. I'm just tickled to see another real fighting man.

Sincerely yours,

Charles_______--Atlanta, GA

I love your idea...I needed one of these cards last Fri. The ultimate in rudeness at a restaurant. I'm not over it yet. Please send pack of 50....Thank you.

Ruth _____--N Tonawanda, NY

Dear George,

When I saw your article in the People's Magazine I felt like I had written it! I encounter so many rude
people at the grocery store, department stores, etc. I have even called to complain to store manager.
I think your performance cards are a wonderful idea. Please send me a pack of 50. I wish I had them
yesterday-I could have passed out 3 very easily and I'm happy to say I know of 2 other people who
would have received an excellent mark!

Not all workers are bad they just make it easier to spot the friendly, courteous ones. I know my
husband and I try to really praise the clerks who have a smile and a kind word. These people are rare.
Sincerely,
Lois _______--Akron, OH

Dear Mr. Saade,

My name is Lisa _______ and I can't tell you how many times I wish I would have had your cards. My husband and I travel frequently and have been known to leave notes on anything we can find. Enclosed is a check for a pack of your cards.

Dear Mr. Saade,

After reading a story about you in People Magazine, I am ordering these
cards for my husband. What a terrific way to release anger and frustration
without physically hurting anyone.

To: George Saade

What a great idea! I am a firm believer in thanking a person for a job well
done, but on the other hand, keeping my mouth shut for politeness sake if
someone is rude.

Finally, a polite come back to rudeness!

Sharon _______--Arvada, CO

Dear Mr. Saade:

I can not stand the offenses much longer. I need your Job Performance Cards
as soon as possible. Rolling the eyes and speaking to the manager is not
helping.

George:

Hurry! Get a patent on this--You are going to be rich. You probably saved
me a jail term for assault. I have often wondered if I was the only person that resents sorry service.

Thanks!

The following are letter excerpts:

Dear Mr. Saade,

....We live in St. George, Utah, and I can assure you that the service here is
mostly so poor that the local newspaper periodically prints articles out-
lining the most rudimentory rules for keeping customers happy. It is hard
to believe that most business people would not already know such basic
information, but a half hour's shopping in our little town soon convinces
you of their woeful ignorance. My son lives in Los Angeles, and I am
certain he can also use your cards.

Sincerely,
Martha _______--St. George, UT

Mr. George Saade:

....It truly is hard to get good service from some people these days but don't
give up on the Northeast and Midwest. Many of us know the value of good
service. You are making a valuable contribution to improve service ignorance.

Thanks,
Norma _______--W. Bloomfield, MI

Dear Mr. Saade,

....And, Mr. Saade, if you feel there are more rude people in the Northeast and Midwest---NO NO NO

California, I believe, wins hands down!!

I do hope our area will be saturated with your cards and-soon!

Thank you for an idea whose time has come!

Sincerely,
Jan _______--Spring Valley, CA

Dear Mr. Saade,

I'm very shy and I always seem to be the one in a crowd to find the rudest
most obnixious salesperson, (man or woman) waitress and telephone
operator to wait (or forget me) on me.

Perhaps, with some of your cards I will try to speak up for my rights.
I loved the article.

Alicia _______--Las Vegas, NV

Dear Mr. Saade,

I read the article about your customer service cards in People Magazine
with great interest. I am a branch manager for a large commercial bank
here in New York State, so needless to say, I am very interested in customer
service. I share your frustrations and was thrilled with your idea. I sent a
copy of the People Magazine article to my district office and would like to
order four sets of cards.

Best wishes for continued success in your campaign for excellent service.

Sincerely,
Mary _______--Orchard Park, NY

Dear George Saade,

I read the article about you in "People" Magazine-and I like you feel the
same way about people working in stereo. Sometimes it makes me so angry-
I want to scream! I was recently in a store waiting in line to check out and
the girl was unbelievably slow and then when I finally reached the check
out, she suddenly CLOSED! No explanation, no "we will take you to the
front of the line "here" no anything! I was so angry! And then as I walked
out I was assulted by an organization asking for money, kids selling candy,
and 2 homeless people asking for spare change! I can't stand going to the
store anymore!. There are some really nice people working in stores and
if they are really nice & helpful I always tell them! But your idea with the
cards is just great! Could you please send me 1 package of those cards-I
would really appreciate it.

Thank You So Much
