  • Ha Ha! You Know Me?

    By Alice Peng
    July 6, 1997

You tell me that you know me
    Better then myself
    Do you truly know me?
    I don't really think so

    Do you know Alice?
    Possibly so
    For that is the me
    You see each day

But do you know the others
    That I mask behind
The masks and sides that I can hide
    I think not

    Do you know Amy?
    The wildest side of me
    Alice is proper
    Never doing wrong
Amy is the rebel in the pack

    Or do you know Amythist?
The one that knows it all
    But doesn't tell it all
She can see what others can't
    And she believes in much

    Shocking you yet?
    Then lets continue
For this is just the beginning

    Do you know Hera?
    The regal one at that
    She acts like a princess
    And royally proper
    Yet the kindest of royalty
    You'll never really know

    Or do you know Hyppolyta?
    Not the one by Shakespeare
But the one that's cold as ice
And is the Queen of Swords
She is defensive, clever and keen
Cross her and die, she screams

    Now what about my favorite?
    Her name is Katarina
She can be odd but she is me
She is the truest of myself to proclaim
But not many have been privileged
    To meet this Katarina
For she is my secretive one at that

Oh now have I confused you?
    Do you still know me?
    Let us keep going
I shall spin you a dream

    Ah yes, and Lenore
Her name is as poetic as the wind
She is the writer within me
    She writes this poem
    With the greatest of ease
    And fancies for detail
    As you can see

    Getting impatient?
    We're almost done
    One last side of me
    And you'll be free
But be aware to never judge me
For you never know who you'll meet

    White Rose the mystic
    As mystical as can be
Into the realm of the spirits she's free
    She explores the meaning
    Of Worlds beyond this one
She believes that all is possible
Mystical is she, the white rose in me.

    Bring Me A Lover

    By Alice Peng
    Sept 12, 1997

    Bring me a lover
    That brings unto me
    The fine qualities of dreaming
    Within a large sea

    A sea of emotions
    Beyond the sight
    Eyes can be blinded
    But a heart cannot

    Bring me a love
    That can never be lost
Love that the world has not seen
Make him so caring, gentle and sweet

    Sweet with the words
    He speaks from his heart
    And his touch
    As soft as can be

    Bring to my sight
    The love of all loves
    Bring me the joy
    That lovers share

    I do not trust love
    Yes that is true
    But only a love
    Can show you the truth

    Bring him to me
    So he'll show me love
His heart be flooded with dreams
And the fear of pain washed away

    I will not hurt him
    If he doesn't hurt me
    For pain goes two ways
    Not just from he

    Bring me my love
    The love far away
    He was lost one day
    Please bring him back home

    The love I once lost
    On a far distant sea
And as I lay in bed to dream
I dream of him caressing me.

    Now it's time
    For reality
    The above can never be
For love is but a fantasy
I do not trust my heart to thee

Love is but a small, small word
    And the thought behind it
    Lost far away
Love is but a mere light thought
    That no meaning is behind

Please think of me, but understand
That I need the time to think
For at this point I believe in much
But love is not within me

    Maybe some day
    You'll make me think
That love can exist within me
    And maybe then, I'll understand
    The purpose of dreams within

    Remove my mask
    So I can see
And then I shall see you
For the man in my life
    Has to know me
And to know the me within me

    Are you that man?
    That I speak of
    The man that knows me
Not just the me that I show each day
But the me that's truly within

    Within my heart
    Ice does not exist
And the cold is melted away
    Like lava spewing forth
My true heart can only be

    Think of me, but understand
    That I still have much
    To comprehend
And life is but a timeline
    For me to view today

    Once I master
    The time of life
I can have time for you

    Do not despair
    For I do love you
But time is much too short
    And I have much
    To learn such forth
That I must have time on my own

My path of adventure will soon begin
Follow if you have the courage
    If you choose to follow
    Then I welcome you
    And my path
    Will I share with you.

    Guys Are Hormones

    (Not all but most)
    By Alice Peng
    Oct. 18, 1997

How stupid are these guys that think
I am but a piece of meat
Hormonal are they who think it best
    They are disgusting, little pests

Am I laughing at these fools
Who find it cool to drown in drool
    Insulting them behind their backs
All I want is some respect

You laugh and joke, but so do I
I point and laugh, you don't know why
You and your walk, wow, so great
But then again, you're yet so fake

Come on down, off that high horse
And meet the truth behind your sores
Mocking are you, the one all mighty
I have some cards, still up my sleeve

Back away or lose the game
'Cause you're playing by my rules, in this game
You better learn, or pay the price
This game is far more then a vice

A game of cards we do not play
For the truth is yet so very vain
Come off your trip, and learn the ways
Are you so dumb, as to think
I've fallen for your little ways?

With a snap, you summon me
Now with a clap a banish thee
Silly you, the fool so great
I'm sorry my king, but I'm not your slave

Hormones are your brains my king
So easy is it for me to see
Now you can learn for I banish thee
And you persuade, little old me?
Never I say, and never shall it stay.
